Energy Department backs Plains & Eastern wind line
The Energy Department will partner with Clean Line Energy Partners on a 705 mile transmission line to move up to 4000 megawatts of wind power from the High Plains into the southeastern United States. Arkansas politicians oppose federal involvement, arguing it bypasses state utility regulation while the project promises jobs and grid reliability and includes homeowner easement options.
