US rig count drops by 16 this week
The Baker Hughes weekly rig count shows 1,968 active rigs in the United States, down 16 from last week. Texas lost 11 rigs, Oklahoma down 10, Pennsylvania down three, while Alaska North Dakota and Wyoming each shed one rig. The Houston based firm reported 1,313 oil rigs and 652 gas rigs in operation.
