Permian Basin Sees Clear Path to FutureGen Site
After presenting to the FutureGen Texas Advisory Board on Wednesday five Permian Basin residents expressed optimism the local site will be chosen for the 1 billion near zero emissions power plant. Neil McDonald of the Odessa Chamber of Commerce called the meeting progressive and said three strong sites in Ector and Midland counties are under consideration as the final RFP requirements evolved.

One vehicle rollover kills two in Odessa
Two unidentified men died after a car rolled over on East 52nd Street near Loop 338 and caught fire. Investigators said the severely burned vehicle made a curb impact, became airborne about 20 feet, and left a 100 yard skid trail as paramedics and officers worked at the scene shortly before 6 p.m. and into the night.
