Prosecutors review case tied to injury to a child case
Ector County District Attorney Bobby Bland said Friday a case involving Jeffrey Stamps, 26, received by the DA’s office on December 28 needs more information before submission to the grand jury. Stamps was arrested in October on a first degree felony charge for injury to a child causing serious bodily injury. He is alleged to have dropped Evani Brianne Jenkins, 4 months old, on a concrete surface, causing a fractured skull and other injuries. Evoni now suffers seizures and blindness, and her grandmother Kim McGary seeks medical care funds. A barbecue fundraiser is planned in Austin, with Odessa venue sought for March 25.

After the Flames Fire Leaves Odessa Family Homeless
Odessa firefighters battled a mobile home blaze at 6824 W Artie St Friday afternoon. Four occupants lost their home with extensive smoke damage. the fire, possibly starting beneath the porch, spread to the living area. No injuries reported as crews, a tanker, an ambulance, and deputies responded.
