Ellenburger Test Near Pecos Reveals Oil Flow Rates
Ellenburger discovery two miles northwest of the Heiner pool in Pecos County was to test Monday. Swabbed between 7440 and 7480 feet, it flowed two barrels per hour for a short period, then acidized and produced 237 barrels per day through a 4 inch choke. A three hour test at 7395 to 7485 feet showed surfaced gas in 64 minutes with no volume estimate.

Texas oil drillers brought in 318 wells last week boosting yearly completions to 7,712 per Railroad Commission. Gas well completions reached 35 for the week and 894 for the year while dry holes totaled 114 for the week and 3,701 for the year. Wildcatters drilled six oil wells and 78 dusters as the calendar day oil allowable rose by 12,652 barrels to 3,430,887.
