Family remembers Kris Menchaca after Army death
Maria Vasquez last saw Kristian Menchaca during Mother's Day week in Brownsville. The 25 year old Pfc. Menchaca, with the 101st Airborne, died in Iraq after an attack that also claimed fellow soldiers Spc. David Babineau and Pfc. Thomas Tucker. Friends note his happy, fearless nature and his habit of guarding a black pack he said held important things. His grandmother and mother remain strong as prayers and support pour in.
