The Texas Good Roads Association calls for highway funding in any fall special session on education. Spokesman Harry Ledbetter says a 5 cent motor fuels tax hike would yield about 350 million dollars yearly for highways, noting 1984-85 highway funding was 3.9 billion against a request of 5.6 billion.
