Hundreds flee Colorado River flood alerts in Grand Junction
About 300 residents in Grand Junction Colorado prepared to evacuate as warnings warned an earthen dike near the Colorado River could fail. Downstream at Parker Strip in Arizona and California residents stacked sandbags and moved mobile homes to higher ground as the river rose nearly 2 feet on the first day of three days of water releases from dams in the region.
