Crews began work July 8, 1985, on the $1.2 million road, expected to carry about 1,000 vehicles daily at opening and over 4,000 by 2005. Ector County Judge Jan Fisher to dedicate at a 10 a.m. ribbon cutting Saturday. Local storekeeper Jennie Bryant hopes for better business from the byway.
