Jet Crashes Into LTV Parking Lot In Texas
An F8 Crusader jet crashed at the end of the runway after takeoff from U S Naval Air Station in Grand Prairie Texas. The pilot Marine Capt Richard Parker Anderson 31 of Dallas ejected but died from injuries when parachute failed to open. The crash scorched a 300 yard path into LTV Aerospace parking lot setting cars ablaze and damaging more before the fuselage split.
