Officials say repairs on Grant ahead of schedule

Texas Department of Transportation officials report the Grant Avenue reconstruction is ahead of schedule as crews install electrical conduits for traffic signals. The $500,000 project led by assistant area engineer Paul Hoelscher will start roadway work a week earlier, with curb and gutter work and tree lighting conduits progressing on Fourth and Grant. Traffic will shift to outer lanes while inner lanes close in one block increments as construction proceeds from Fourth to Eighth Street. The Grant project is expected to begin in June.
