Rollover Claims Terlingua Activist Known for Protests
A 72 or 74 year old Terlingua man, Jim Edward Goodnow, died Sunday after a rollover 24 miles outside Alpine on Texas State Highway 118. He was not wearing a seat belt, authorities said, and the crash occurred as his car drifted right then overcorrected. Goodnow led protest efforts including a bus aimed at bringing U S troops home from Iraq and impeaching President Bush, earning local recognition for decades of activism. Friends held vigil in Terlingua as relatives were notified.

A 12-year-old Odessa boy Dylan Ray Sanders died at Covenant Children’s Hospital after the 2011 Kubota ATV he rode flipped onto him on private property in the 4600 block of North East Loop 338.
