Power outage hits Odessa area traffic and courthouse

Oncor spokeswoman Sue Mercer said a faulty switch west of Midland International Airport caused a transmission problem. The outage disrupted traffic and slowed entry to the county courthouse as people queued for the metal detectors. Officials denied a rolling blackout or grid failure and offered no single cause.

Pat Ennis notes running a pumpjack uses 10 000 to 11 000 kilowatt hours a month and about 600 dollars.
