Six of eight Democratic lawmakers who pooled resources in 1988 to buy Pierre Island transferred their shares to John Bryant of Texas. The 17 acre island near Harbour Island, Bahamas, was part of a failed venture with Douglas & Chamberlain Ltd. Mortgage on the island remains delinquent as the group struggles to sell and the property has no rent potential.
