No Prudery In U S S R But Loose Morals Not Condoned

Moscow reports there is little prudery in the U S S R with a single standard for men and women. Chaperones are absent, but moral conduct is not condoned and party membership can be jeopardized by loose morals. Marriages are registered at Zags and church weddings still occur in villages. Birth control is discouraged, large families are promoted, and mothers may receive government support and titles. Divorce is slower and discouraged to keep families intact especially with children. The war's toll on men looms over family policy.
