Berlin dispatch reports extra ammunition and orders to shoot refugees fleeing to the West from the Soviet run East Germany. West officials say the Red police were told to use firearms if necessary to prevent escapes across the frontier. Soviet soldiers raid a border farm, seizing cattle and ordering West German residents to evacuate. Thousands of East Germans cross into West Germany under tense security lines, while expulsions shift residents toward Oder Neisse under Polish administration. American zone officials note over a thousand cross Friday and Saturday as villages along the frontier overflow with refugees.
