Antique Liberty Truck stops in Odessa for TxDOT exhibit
The Texas Department of Transportation marks its 100th anniversary with a traveling exhibit featuring a refurbished 1918 Liberty Truck. It will visit the Permian Basin Petroleum Museum in Midland Tuesday, the Odessa District Administration Building Wednesday, and the Fort Stockton Chamber of Commerce Thursday with set hours each location. The exhibit highlights TxDOT history and ongoing transportation needs. The Ellen Noel Art Museum plans a Herb Williams show June 15 to Sept 7 with an opening reception and artist talk.

Betty Johnson died June 1 at 86 in Odessa, honored long service at Medical Center Hospital with about 50 years of volunteering. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens. funeral 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church. Her three children recall how she began helping after her mother’s cancer stay in the 1960s. Her husband Herbert, a retired oilman, encouraged her to help people and guide others.
