Odessa Teddy Bear Patrol’s 1990起 bears offer comfort
Odessa police and Air Liquide employees launched the Teddy Bear Patrol in 1990 to place beige bears with navy shirts in patrol cars firetrucks and ambulances. Officers like Matthew Holman replace bears after shifts as donations fund the program through pancake breakfasts and community gifts. The bears comfort children in crises and have evolved into a citywide aid with Safe Place and Harmony Home receiving surplus stuffed animals.
