First Christian Church of Ector County History
On June 6 1906 faithful of the Christian Church began the First Christian Church on Court House Square with A W Wight donating a Lee Street lot and a tent. A wooden revival stage followed a six week 1907 campaign. Women funded a permanent house with bake sales and chuck wagon lunches. A 1941 brick church on Sixth and Lee added an education wing and bell tower. The present sanctuary of Austin stone with stained glass was dedicated June 26 1966 after a service in the old church.
