The Perryman Group reports Texas endures drought and shrinking supplies as 2011 proves the driest year in many locales. By 2060 existing water may fall about 10 percent while population could rise over 80 percent, boosting demand to about 22 million acre feet annually. 16 regional groups propose 562 projects adding 9 million acre feet, at an estimated $53 billion, with a proposed $2 billion Rainy Day Fund loan to finance the plan.

Odessa entrepreneur Roy Gillean unveils a 42 foot by 18,800 pound mobile kitchen trailer valued at 150000. The trailer, completed in October, features air conditioning a 55 inch TV and generator. It will serve private events disaster relief and culinary teaching while the Barn Door restaurant remains open. Local students and schools praised the hands on culinary education sparked by the trailer. Public naming efforts underway via Facebook with potential concession use July 1 to July 8.
