Prosecutor plans no parole for Cubans under deportation accord
At a hearing in Atlanta federal court a prosecutor said the United States aims to revive a Cuba deportation agreement and has no plans to parole Cubans returned under it. Judge Shoob urged release of non dangerous inmates, but officials fear parolees might flee to avoid deportation. Prior parole cooperation existed for non dangerous inmates with sponsors. 35 of 147 non dangerous inmates had sponsors when paroles were suspended.
