New 1200 foot juvenile court room boosts Lubbock proceedings
In late June a new 1200 square foot juvenile courtroom opened after a year of construction part of a nearly 2 million project. Judge Melissa McNamara praised the space saying it brings order and safety, replacing two cramped portable buildings used for decades. McNamara now travels thrice weekly to oversee hearings and detention decisions while juveniles remain in custody without bail.
