Mexican judge blocks Trevi extradition request
A Mexican judge rejected the government's bid to extradite pop singer Gloria Trevi and choreographer Maria Raquenel Portillo from Brazil. The ruling delays their extradition as they face charges of abducting and raping teenage girls in their care. Authorities said they will revise and resubmit the extradition request, restarting the process.

Pecos River irrigation halted as drought hits ranchers tough
USGS data show Pecos River flow at 5.8 gal/min versus a 44 gal/min 62 year mean. Jim Ed Miller, Pecos native and former Red Bluff Water Power district GM, says ranchers are losing ranches as land under 30 percent of normal cattle capacity. San Antonio and Dallas Fort Worth areas see above yearly rainfall, while Midland and El Paso lag. Forecasters warn El Nino may bring rain but offer no guarantee. Miller remains hopeful for meaningful rainfall to resume ranching.
