Miniature jets and r c planes take to the sky in two setups near Odessa and Midland. The West Texas Jet FX Rally 04 runs today through Sunday with turbine engine models. Hi Sky R C Club showcases at the CAF hangar on Saturday and Sunday.
A West Texas event, the Odessa Prop Buster Club, runs today and Saturday 9 a.m. to dusk and Sunday 9 a.m. to noon one mile south of Interstate 20 on South Dixie Boulevard at the police and fire training grounds. Hi Sky R C Club of Midland hosts a weekend electric plane fly in at the Commemorative Air Force hangar with 9 am to 5 pm hours Saturday and 12 noon to 5 pm Sunday. An Odessa man was robbed at knife point at 2:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of South Grant Avenue. A debit card unauthorized use occurred at 8:47 a.m. in the 2600 block of Grandview Avenue. Sam's Club on John Ben Shepperd Parkway reported a $1,749 laptop stolen between noon June 29 and 4:30 a.m. June 30.
