Lipscomb defends integrity in bribery case in Dallas
Dallas City Councilman Al Lipscomb testifies in his own defense saying he never took bribes, though he received $1000 payments from Floyd Richards of Yellow Checker Cab Co. Richards testified he gave money as recently as this weekend as a token of friendship and to gain votes. Southwest Airlines chief executive Herb Kelleher called Lipscomb incorruptible. other witnesses defended and supported Lipscomb while prosecutors argue the payments shaped Lipscomb's votes and actions on the council.
