Planet hunters find bizarre new worlds
Planet scientists led by Geoffrey Marcy at UC Berkeley report two objects orbiting a star 123 light years away, one possibly the largest planet beyond the solar system and a second planet pair moving in lockstep around another star. The findings, announced at an American Astronomical Society meeting, challenge conventional planetary formation theories.
