Settlements Reached in Titan II Rock Kansas Lawsuits
Three Houston filed lawsuits stemming from the 1978 Titan II accident at Rock Kansas reached out of court settlements. Plaintiffs Linda Thomas Elisa Hepstall and Carl Malinger pursued 2.8 million 3.1 million and 7.1 million demands. Defendants included Martin Marietta Fairchild Arrowhead Parsons and Ralph M Parsons. The U S Air Force report prompted the settlement and indicated a human error rather than a system failure. The report noted the missile system was basically safe but needed changes to curb potential hazards.
