Foreclosures rise in third quarter amid fewer loan mods

The Associated Press reports the US rig count fell to 1,694 with 919 drilling for gas and 765 for oil, plus ten miscellaneous. State changes included Louisiana and Wyoming up three rigs, Oklahoma up two, New Mexico and North Dakota up one, while Texas down 15, Colorado down four, Alaska down one, and Arkansas California Pennsylvania and West Virginia unchanged.
