Complaints to Dallas Consumer Affairs Run High
Dallas AP The City of Dallas Consumer Affairs office fields 25 to 50 calls daily from people claiming they were duped swindled or defrauded. Director J D Walton says most complaints are legitimate and notes the department has enforcement powers with badges and potential jail. Since a November ordinance created CAD the office has exposed the ease of cheating decent citizens.

Four Homes Head Permits And Odessa Building Activity
Four new residences in Odessa boosted this week’s building permit value to eighty two thousand seven hundred sixty dollars from last week’s one million forty nine thousand two hundred fifty. No new commercial permits were issued this week. Nine residential additions are underway across several addresses, with values from one hundred to four thousand dollars. A one story dormitory at St Stephens School in Austin was destroyed by fire with no injuries reported. The Indiana State Board of Health congratulated Santa Claus town for fluoridating its water system.
