Voter turnout climbs in 1982 off year study
Washington AP reports the final study from the Committee for the Study of the American Electorate shows 1982 turnout rose to 41.1 percent, a 3.6 point gain from 1978, with increases across regions and most groups. Democrats gain share from 19.5 to 21.8 percent. registration mostly flat.
