Children send toys to Beirut for Christmas relief
More than 3,000 toys and 5,400 lollipops are sent to Beirut children with a plea to hostage-takers to free captives. Toys travel free by air, with final delivery by St. Francis Church in Beirut. Carmella LaSpada of No Greater Love leads the effort, funded by union donations from Painters, Iron Workers, Sheet Metal Workers, and Fire Fighters.

Gas prices fall from last year says AAA
Gas prices hover near Thanksgiving levels with an average of 90.4 cents per gallon. AAA notes prices are about 35 cents lower than a year ago and 60 percent of 6,000 surveyed service stations will be closed Christmas day, advising travelers to fill up on December 24.
