County weighs small upgrades at Ector County Courthouse
Dr. Carrillo outlined several minor projects at the Ector County Courthouse and Annex to repurpose spaces and add a security counter. Estimated total cost about 25 200 dollars though numbers are still being finalized. The plan centers on relocating the courthouse security office and post sentence monitoring, removing a wall, and creating new offices for code enforcement. The savings from using the maintenance department for the 446th District Court on the first floor could fund these moves. The county faces a tight budget after oil and gas slowdowns.
