Planning helps save taxes for all income levels
Washington tax experts urge year end planning for average earners. Roy Harrill of Arthur Andersen notes two thirds of filers had AGI under 25 000 in 1982 and most do not itemize. He recommends charitable giving, December purchases for sales tax deductions, keeping purchase records, and considering municipal bonds or syndicated shelters. Other tips include itemized deductions for bad debts and unreimbursed medical expenses and using business use of a car for small credits.
