Second Georgia execution marks 11th in US since 1976
John Eldon Smith, aka Anthony Machetti, was executed at Jackson Georgia 8:15 a.m. after 2,000 volts. He and accomplices were tied to the 1974 slayings of Ronald and Juanita Akins, part of an insurance scheme. Smith was the second man in 29 hours to die in the electric chair.
