Police infiltrated civil rights group lobbying police review board
AP reports that Los Angeles police officers and informants spied on the Campaign For a Citizens Police Review Board for about ten months, feeding information to Police Chief Daryl Gates. The ACLU says 131 defendants accuse the department of illegal spying as trial approaches, while police defend the actions as proper collection of information.
