FDIC extends period for portfolio review at RepublicBank
FDIC directors unanimously approved a second 30 day extension for RepublicBank to review the loan portfolio of the failed First National Midland. The extension follows the October 14 closure and insurance deposit takeover by Fepublic Bank Corp. The FDIC retains about 1.2 billion in loans and assets from the Midland bank. Operations chief Tom Wageman says the extra time plus a loan buy back deal should finish the review.
