Washington commuters barter rides in express lane system
In Springfield Virginia each weekday commuters wait at a Long John Silver’s lot to swap rides into Washington. Drivers and riders connect quickly, typically under 10 minutes, and save 20 to 50 minutes. About 600 to 900 people use the setup daily, with many heading to the Pentagon. Fairfax police report no crime linked to the ride sharing over five years.
