Poll finds middle generation blacks wary of whites
A Los Angeles Times poll shows blacks aged 30 to 44 distrust whites more and feel less progress from civil rights gains. The May telephone survey of 522 blacks, 216 Hispanics and 701 whites highlights attitudes on busing, education, and income, with middle generation blacks earning over $20,000 annually at a higher rate than other blacks.
