Catfish farming gains ground in US aquaculture drive
The Agriculture Department reports farm-raised catfish lead the surge in aquaculture producing over 70 million pounds of catfish plus 30 million pounds of trout last year. Aquaculture expands nationwide with major production in Mississippi Arkansas and Louisiana and grows as a key farming industry. Late college registration at Odessa College lists fall classes with over 3 400 students enrolled and deadlines through September 8.
