Med fly infestation expands spray zone in California
Aerial spraying with malathion expanded to 17 more square miles as the Mediterranean fruit fly infestation grows in the San Joaquin Valley. The total 2,427 square mile quarantine restricts fruit exports unless guarantees show no infestation. Signs of fertility were confirmed in Newark Westley and San Jose. DC-4 dusting planned along I-5 tonight.
