Hospital boards weigh cuts to cover 2005 deficit
Ector County Hospital District faces a 2005 deficit of about 2.8 million as administrators consider a mix of options including a rollback tax rate to 0.12030 per 100 valuation, a 12 percent room-rate increase, and a voluntary retirement plan for 59 employees totaling 2.3 million in salaries. Board members urge a detailed plan to curb monthly deficits of roughly 230,000 and reduce reliance on reserves.
