South Sudan troops attack foreigners in Juba killings and rapes
A group of South Sudanese soldiers rampaged through a foreigner-occupied Terain hotel complex in Juba on July 11, injuring at least 15 locals and several foreign women, while robbing, beating, and carrying out mock executions. Witnesses say U.N. peacekeepers and embassies did not respond. The assault followed days of fighting between government forces and rebels. An army spokesman acknowledged arms are widespread but did not confirm army responsibility.
