County budget fights rising costs and staffing limits
County officials face a looming budget crisis with an Oct 1 start, seeking about $53.9 million in revenue while aiming to trim roughly $3 million in spending. Judge Redford vows not to exceed rollback rates, as jail overcapacity and rising insurance costs pressure the plan. The court approved a $4.3 million digitization contract using non tax funds and adjusted staffing to curb expenses.
