Baker Hughes reports Permian Basin drilling rigs rose by six to 254 for a fifth straight week, part of a national uptick as oil prices hovered around 60 dollars a barrel. Gas rigs increased by four to 213, lifting total oil and gas rigs to 884. Analysts warn a price drop may reverse the gain.
Customers at Albertsons and United Family stores can enter promotion codes at OutNumberHunger to donate five meals to local food banks through Feeding America. Each code entered by January 31, 2016 triggers a 50 cent donation, with a $1.2 million cap. $500,000 has already been donated and up to $700,000 more may be added based on online entries.
