Rock the Desert festival grows from parking lot roots to big stages
The RTD festival began as a small 10 year ago concept created by Doug and Marcy with a budget of about $50,000. It has expanded to Beal Park then land between Midland and Odessa, drawing attendees from across the country. Switchfoot leads a $250,000 lineup alongside Disciple LeCrae Chris Tomlin and TobyMac as the event grows in size, scope, and ministry outreach. The festival now features a teen tent to reach unchurched youth and uses music to connect them to faith, while artists like Disciple and LeCrae gain broader recognition.
