Judicial Board Elects Hauss and Miss Garrett

The Judicial Board elected new co chairmen Sloe Chip Mauss and Rubin Garrett replacing Les Told who resigned for personal reasons. Junior Bob Sheridan will assume Leopold's position as an alternate. The board discussed a student code of conduct and asked Student Senate to ratify drug regulations.

Senate Discusses Reform and Disciplinary Changes

Senate met Sunday to debate reform of judicial and social concerns, the college governance overhaul, and a proposed joint student faculty body. It elected Russ Jones and Jim Saalfeld to work with the Judicial Board and discussed due process, dean roles, and the suspension issues from last summer.

Gilligan rally planned to energize college voters after picnic honor

A youth rally sponsored by Youth for Gilligan aims to boost interest in the Gilligan campaign among college students. Don Pease will be honored at a 5 PM picnic and Gilligan is set to appear around 2 PM. Students will canvass door to door and may organize shopping trips and factory visits to influence notes and raise funds. Educators for Gilligan, led by Albert McQueen, will support outreach among faculty and assist with transportation and logistics.

College Sets Board Costs Reduced by Term Length

Dayton Livingston, assistant business manager, says fall and spring term board costs are cut in proportion to shorter terms. The cost per term is 259 and 90 for the Winter term, with last year’s costs at 200 per semester and total annual cost this year 600 versus 590 last year.

Team To Play In TV Quiz On November 16

The National Broadcasting Company schedules Oberlin for November 16 on its weekly quiz program. Eight students, four alternates, will be selected after campus eliminations to face an unnamed opponent. Professor Daniel Goulding coaches, with questions drawn from current events, European and American history, literature, science and the arts.
