A sales pitch touts the best new visible typewriter and the National Course in Quick Easy Touch Typewriting. It claims old machines are inferior and promises delivery this very day in a local address and phone contact for immediate purchase.
A crowded schedule lists Oct events at the Men's Building and Oberlin venues, including lectures by Helen Keller and C Edmund Nell, a November football game against Western Reserve, December recitals, and a freshman meeting. Also notes a mass meeting of the House Government Association in Sturges Hall to elect a new president after Christine Bigelow’s resignation.
The Oberlin College Directory for 1912 14 will be on sale starting Monday October 20. It lists officers students and addresses, administration hours, student organizations and dormitories with rooming houses noted. At the regular meeting the Oberlin Dramatic Association approved a constitution and submitted it for approval. The faculty elected three members to the Dramatic Association board, Professors Wager, Jelliffe, and Sherman. Three more members will be elected from the faculty at the next vote.
A notice states a social rally and concert will be held last Saturday night and again tomorrow evening at 8 30 with Jail men invited. Music and stunts promise entertainment. A late event begins at 9 with Dean Mile and veterans speaking. Attendees urged to come, as entry is limited.
Treasury notice instructs crazy societies and other organizations under the auditing system to hand their financial accounts for the last semester to Senate auditing committee members Sarah Jones Ruth Sackwell John Love or Herman Nichols for review.

The Theta Club held its first meeting last week to fill the role left vacant by George Clauss. Sherwood Moran was chosen president and the group planned a more formal basis with a membership fee. The inaugural regular meeting is set for Wednesday at 9 o'clock with talks by the president and vice-president followed by a social hour.
The boiler house for the new heating plant is progressing rapidly with only maint connections left to finish. Pumps for condensate return are installed and the system will be among the most complete in the state, capable of using gas or coal to ensure continuous heat if one method fails. Gas main trenches have been dug and the building will use hollow blocks covered with concrete.
A special course in French diction for advanced Conservatory students will be taught by Associate Professor Tamenon in Nag ing. It focuses on French pronunciation with singing practice, includes basic grammar, memory work with simple poems, and study of modern French songs to aid pronunciation and diction in vocal music.
Readable program notes cover a student recital featuring pieces by Rachmaninoff Schubert and Pechaikowsky with performers Harold Smith Mary Turner Salter and Miss Ormsby among others. Professor P D Sherman is slated to present the third talk in a series at Christchurch on social dramas of Hauptmann and Sobel.
