Lanai Prize Essays on International Arbitration and Peace

Senate fills honor court vacancy at Ada college

At a meeting of the women’s Senate after chapel Ruth Richardson was chosen to fill the Honor Court vacancy caused by Sarah Shuey’s resignation. Ruth Alexander was named to the committee on rul varmalee F. Drury ex-’15, secretary at the Y M C A of Ohio Northern University in Ada.

Oberlin College registers varied enrollment changes

Registration statistics show Arts and Sciences up by one from last year, while the freshman class reaches 314, three fewer than Fall 1909. The Seminary adds 10 students, the Conservatory 40, and the Academy declines by 22 before a 39 regain this year.

Interclass Football Opens With Seniors Fall to Juniors 1-0

The 1914 interclass football games opened with the seniors losing to the juniors 1-0 while freshmen outplayed the sophomores, 7-0. The juniors controlled the ball with a strong forward line, fumbles marred the seniors, and Burns scored for the juniors in the final quarter from the 95-yard line after a Wallace pass. University of Chicago adopts new honor system

The University of Chicago Honor Association has adopted resolutions establishing a student court to try violations of the honor code. Under the plan a student who witnesses dishonesty in exams must drop a note into a designated mailbox. A student is only found guilty if two students appear in the prosecution.

Oriental Rugs Exhibit Opens At Oberlin College

The Oberlin Art Association presents forty eight rugs loaned by Charles M. Hall of Buffalo from Turkey China and other nations. Professor Martin will lead four talks in French Hall with standard works on view and daily hours 4 00 to 5 30 and 1 00 to 8 30 p m through the 16th. Membership growth aims to fund ongoing exhibitions and lectures benefiting students and the college community.

Debate Team Members Receive Prize and Credit

Reserve triangle debaters receive $60 total annual prize money $10 per man plus a wearable gold R fob and three hours of English credit for the season. Oberlin six speakers earn $25 each with three hours college credit and potential Delta Sigma Rho membership pending faculty action. The fraternity is an honorary debating society on par with Phi Beta Kappa.
