Colleges Plan Big Commencement Exercises Next Week
Two hundred forty three diplomas will be conferred across departments as the eighty fourth annual commencement unfolds. Arts and sciences will award 197 degrees, music 21 bachelor diplomas, graduate school of theology 14, and physical training 14 diplomas to three men and 11 women. Several seniors left early, but festivities will proceed with typical vigor amid war era constraints.

Oberlin battalion to hold Decoration Day drill on campus
The Oberlin Military Training School battalion led by the Boye band will parade on Decoration Day at nine. The first call sounds at 8 53 with a seven minute assembly. The battalion forms on the dell round before the Men’s Building and marches to Mala and College street for battalion drill. Afterward the unit joins the GAR escort to the Soldiers monument at Professor and College streets. Men wear white trousers white shirts and take part in the parade.
