Revision Adds Sex Education To Curriculum

A campus committee appointed to study curricular changes proposed by the Student Congress announced few changes. The group includes Dean Carl Witthe and Professors Warren Taylor and L. E. Cole, plus Anne Higgins, Arthur Friedman, and Richard Cartwright, who issued a statement Wednesday. Sex education will be reintroduced into basic musical education, while music appreciation remains a two hour course pending further study. No social science major will be instituted. current history of philosophy remains status quo for at least one more year. A survey of 84 Oberlin upperclassmen by Bob Friedrichs in educational psychology finds nearly half blame excessive focus on grades and academic learning as the main flaw. Critics cite strict social regulations, recreation limits, and weak vocational counseling as major drawbacks while 58 percent say academics consume most time, yet curricular activities are also deemed important.
